Organ transplant information training from MAKÜ and Burdur State Hospital

The education program organized by MAKÜ Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, Department of Surgical Diseases Nursing, and Burdur State Hospital Organ Transplant Coordination aimed to increase awareness of organ donation in the community.

In the trainings held every Tuesday between February 18 – May 16, 2025, detailed information about the organ transplant process was conveyed to patients and their relatives. The importance of organ donation, legal processes, ethical dimensions, and medical requirements were discussed in the trainings. Participants' questions were answered, and misconceptions were clarified.

After the trainings, volunteer participants were offered the opportunity to fill out an organ donation form. This awareness effort, which attracted great interest, was an important step towards increasing the community's sensitivity to organ donation.

Officials from MAKÜ and Burdur State Hospital stated that such collaborations would continue and emphasized that projects aimed at public health would be increased.
